I guess under the good news heading, I've managed to win the NaNoWriMo (National Novel-Writing Month) challenge, certifying more than 50,000 words. The manuscript name is "Forfeits," and it is designed as the sequel to Dust & Cannibals.
Dust & Cannibals published November 5 as a paperback, and about a week later as an eBook (Kindle). My final comment in late October was the observation that it needed to find its readership. Looking at the sales to date, I conclude that the title is still looking for its readership. The other possibility is that there simply isn't any readership for it.
My motivation to continue pursuing writing as something that I might actually make a little money has gone. It has left town, with a forwarding address of General Deliver, Phuket. (Google that, friends. Okay, it's an island off the coast of Thailand.)
I have now joined the ranks of those writers working on a PPOD basis: Publish or print, but only if there's demand. Funny. I don't even hear any crickets chirping.
